So many conversations over the past few days have prompted me to share this thought…
Spring is around the corner–we see it, smell it, hear it, feel the energy of what is to come.
But it is still Winter.
The thaw is beginning to happen. If you can imagine your creativity and your ambition as a bear cub in its den, then imagine it rubbing its sleepy little eyes and its warm, round belly and peering out of its comfortable resting place into a world that is coming back to life.
Now is not the time to run out of your cave and start taking on the world…yet.
I ran my first 5K earlier this year. I don’t really enjoy running, but I had heard from many friends about the rush of completing a race. Listening to them describe this feeling, and seeing them sign up for race after race just to attain it, I decided to give it a try.
Before the race began, all the runners were gathered in a dense huddle. They were bouncing around, jogging in place, stretching their legs and arms, adjusting their clothes, and getting their soundtracks all cued up. There was a buzz, a humm, heat was being generated and excitement was building!
The warm-up is an essential part of the race.
It’s the same for our goals, dreams, and projects. We have to warm-up and get in the zone.
The official turn to Spring is just a couple weeks away. I know I mirror what many people have expressed to me the past week or so: it’s time to move, time to take action, time to get started on the creation of whatever the flow of ideas and inspiration is sending our way!
That energy is AWESOME! Capture it! Get a new journal and start letting getting those ideas out of your head and on to paper. Have brunch with some friends and share your big vision. Ask them what they’re dreaming up right now because I’ll bet you a mimosa you’re not the only one in your group who’s inspired!
I love to pull out some of my old school goal setting techniques this time of year, like looking at my calendar for the next few months, marking all special dates, travel plan, and other non-negotiable time commitments. Then I create some deadlines for myself and reverse engineer the projects I want to bring to life. (These are all practices I use when working with clients wanting to get things done in the world, along with the deeper practices that really connect them to their desires at a soul-level. Its juicy, musey work!)
I’ll be talking more about this with my special goddessy guests on my
