This month is the Spring Equinox, the turn from the introverted energy of Winter to the extroverted energy of Spring. Nature has a way of drawing us out of hibernation by her alluring scents, sounds, and hopeful vibration, and I’ve been feeling it the past couple of weeks!
My personal energy is higher and creative ideas are flooding my system. This transition time is the perfect time to spend some time journaling about what you’re wanting to let go of as you enter this new season. Is there a relationship that feels like it’s holding you back? Did you say yes to something a couple months ago that no longer feels like it has a place in your life? What about your home–spring cleaning! What in your environment feels stagnant or uninspiring?
It’s time to clean up house; our physical home and the home of our spirit, which is our minds and our bodies. That’s what I’m here to help with this month. So here are some journal prompts for you to work with this week:
- What is one thing in your life that feels like a pull on you that you can sever ties with? This can be a thought pattern, a habit, a person…anything that feels like it’s keeping you from launching forward in your life.
- What would it take to let that go? By letting that go, what would you be saying YES to?
- Imagine being free from that ball & chain. Feel it in your body. How does your physiology change: can you breathe deeper, stand taller, smile more easily? Whatever it is that you can feel in your body, allow that to be the signal that brings you back home to yourself. If you’re tempted to go back to this pull, put yourself in the physical space of freedom from it. Pause and take a deep breath. Plant your feet and stretch your spine toward the sky. Look yourself in the mirror and smile, knowing you’re choosing yourself over any sense of obligation or guilt. You’re worth it!
