There’s no doubt that developing an awesome relationship with yourself is an inside job. Think about other relationships you have in your life. There are some that are very “surface”–it’s all small talk and niceties. (Hopefully not gossip–no one needs those kinds of relationships.)
There are other relationships that are deep and juicy. That friend you can curl up on the couch with and share the intimate details of your life and your heart. Those are the relationships that help us to feel truly supported, nourished, and alive. That’s what we’re going for with the relationship we’re building with ourselves.
Do you ever listen to your inner dialogue and think, “man, if someone else was talking to me this way I’d cut her out of my life!”
Is your inner self someone you can curl up on a couch with and lovingly hold space for?
Although this is soul-level work, the environment we craft in the world around is can be very impactful. It can support or deter the ability to explore our inner world. The louder our outer world, the harder it is to tune in to our inner world.
>And by the way, this isn’t necessarily about noise. I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes:
Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
We can intentionally set up our outer environment to support the inner work we are doing in all areas of our life. This is the essence of Feng Shui as I work with it… I call it
Intentional Life Design.
It’s about knowing what we want to create in our lives and in the world–the knowing part is the inner work–and setting up our environment to support and affirm that intention. It’s a beautiful and creative way to work with the energy of our desires and begin to see them manifest before our very eyes.
Next week, and the final week of each month, I’ll be sharing the how-to’s of Intentional Life Design, with sprinklings of Feng Shui, affirmations, essential oils, and more. So if you haven’t signed up to my email list yet, be sure to do that so you don’t miss that!
To prepare you for the hands-on work of next week, I recorded this little 5-minute meditation for you. Being the technology novice that I am, I can’t figure out how to include this in this post. So, if you’d like to take a listen and feel in to the energy of unconditional self-love, the basis for true Knowledge & Self Cultivation, just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll send it right to you!
I’d love to read your reflections on this mediation, and any other insights you have on this month’s theme. Comment here on the blog or on the Facebook page.
peace & self-love (and loads of love from me!),
